Certified Nurse Assistant

"Terrible place to work. CNA grossly under staffed, and those who were there are overworked. Supplies were always low so we couldn't do our job properly. As a CNA one weekend I had 32 residents all by myself. The DON questioned why I didn't call her. Phone number was not available to us. I always brought in supplies just so I could do basic cares. DON and other staff members were working while under the influence of alcohol or marijuana. DON would throw the CNA's under the bus when things went wrong. The pay was not competitive nor offered health insurance to full time employees. CNA's are a revolving door due to mistreatment. CNA's were afraid to talk to the DON due to retaliation. Could not document cares properly, system in place was outdated. Company was caught lying about my performance then firing me, and lost in unemployment. They created hostile work environment, and padded the bottom line numbers for state. So they can get bonuses. CNA's never saw any kind of reward bonuses. Had meetings with owners, they acted like they cared. What a joke that was, things never changed. Maybe only the way the facility revamped facility appearance inside. However, they need a complete overhaul of the DON position. It might be more bearable to work there."
