5I have really enjoyed the time spent at the General Assembly (GA). I came from different background in Financing & Accounting with Oracle SQL/MySQL Database Administration and Biomedical Laboratory and Clinical Sciences.
With the accelerated learning at GA for a Full stack Software Engineer Immersive, I have embraced new challenges which have prepared me for web development. I have built four(4) full stack applications using new Technologies: JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX, HTML, CSS Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL,Handlebars, Git/GitHub, Heroku, Express, React.js, MongoDB, Amazon Web Service (AWS S3). With the support of my instructors and working in small groups with my peers, I have learned different perspectives using technology to solve real life problems.
I am committed to learning more and enhancing my capacity.
My hard work at GA and my varied background have prepared me to join a strong Software Engineer team which is looking for a talented junior Software Engineer.
4.8I've always been interested in building things at a young age. I have built projects on my own as long as I can remember. And I wanted to build something worthwhile and can help or assist people in doing their endeavors in life. This is where General Assembly SEI-1 comes in, I have enjoyed and savored most of the curriculum as I progress in building apps in different languages and logic in a different way. I have learned HTML, CSS, JS, REACT, NODE, DJANGO, PYTHON in a very short amount of time. Teamwork and patience are vital to building some complex app to have a finished product. Using, understanding these languages and tools will achieve my goals in the future. Keep moving on forward and implementing this newfound knowledge will help me reach my long term goals.
4.2I've worked for General Assembly for just over 6 months, and attending General Assembly as a student prior to my employment there.
The internal culture at General Assembly is phenomenal, with an authentic focus on constantly improving our curriculum to better serve our students. I'm very pleased to work for a company that values what they do, and their impact, like GA does!
