"Genco is a good company I recommend any one to go work there"
"The Good.. Genco provides a job. I am a temporary contract worker. I'm on and off with Genco. I come whenever I need quick money. The Bad... Genco utilizes temporary staff to fill a significant portion of its workforce. There are many temps who have worked for the company for several years. With no raises or benefits. The majority of Genco's workforce at the Fort Worth, Texas location are immigrants. Many can not speak any English. They are overwhelmingly Asian and African. Many have little to no education. But they are friendly. It seems that around 80% of the workers are chinese or korean. I'm very suspicious of this high percentage and I wonder where Genco places its job advertisements. These Asians are permanent workers. The black employees are mostly all temps. We make $8.50 an hour. I was talking to a fellow coworker, who was also a temp and from Nigeria and he said he'd been with the company for eight years straight and he was still at $8.50 an hour. This is the majority of temps. The temp offices are on site. The agency has to give their 'approval' for you to even apply directly at the company. The warehouse is the most depressing place ever. It's always dark or dim in there. You have to take off your shoes (even if you have no socks) and place them up on a table when you are entering and leaving. You're warned. There are guards everywhere. You have to be 'escorted' out the building if you need to leave for any reason other than your lunch or break. The turnover rate is very high. It's always been that way. The facility in Fort Worth is in Far North Fort Worth and its a massive facility about 40 miles out from... well, from everything. Very scary driving out there at night because again its so far out. No houses. No apartments. No people. Just open road and then Genco. So people are having to drive 40 miles each way for jobs that pay $8.50 and this also leads to high turnover. I feel sorry for the supervisors. None of them out there seem very happy."
"Very unorganized. Managers are no more than people young and promoted off the line. Management skills are very poor. Their scheduling was not very good. Turnover was extremely high, which made it hard to get a good crew. Poorly managed, lots of nepotism and hard to fit in with the local cliques who all work in same department."
"I worked for Genco for one year and have found the company to be competitive in wages and they offer good benefits. Also, they are growing at a fast rate and have very knowledgeable senior leaders who are down to earth and are very supportive and understanding no matter what their title is."
"Worked for Genco and found it to be an overall good company."
"Great company and great people."
"Overall, a good place to work in. Nice environment in which the people come first. Needs to improve for staff personnel the vision / focus on individual growth for setting targets on individual development."
"I've worked for Genco for nearly 5 years, great people, great IT leadership, but not much growth opportunities."
"Great company to work for. Everyone is friendly and has a team attitude. However, I do wish we had a better work environment and better tools to do our job."
