"I have worked for G4S since 2015. I saw a variety of client sites and was able to quickly progress. The company itself is Global which can provide for many opportunities. Some of the primary issues that they have are that the local branches seem to be stretched thin, having to do a lot of jobs within one role, and that compensation is not great in the security world."

"You are hired to fill holes at their job sites, regardless of your experience or qualification. You are treated like dirt filling a hole once you're in the hole there is no way out but to quit."

"These people are manipulative. They will constantly screw you over. Never EVER accept a job site that is at DISCOVER in SALT LAKE. I have seen them screw their employees (security) over, time and again. At that site, you are a second class citizen. You are told to make others follow rules, but when you do, and the employees get upset about it.. they will change the policy. They will give you leave and then take it away. They will tell you that you cant use your leave, then you lose it for not using it. They do free food and fun events, but you are not allowed to accept any food that anyone tries to give you. I have turned down hamburgers because I am told im not allowed to accept them. The higher ups make fun of you to your face and laugh at you (on the discover side). I thought it was like this at all sites until I switched jobs to a different company. They treat me like im a person at my new one. They do not accept doctors notes and write you up, even with them. Then they wonder why no one stays. They treat people who have been there forever like crap. It doesnt get better the longer you stay. I have worked many places, and now different security jobs, if they assign you this one... RUN... QUIT.. dont even bother, or just tell them you need a different site."

"I'm not sure what it's like in other areas or states. The Orange County office was pretty shady. Was forced to work as a rover. Got paid minimum wage to drive 40-50 miles a day. And they would try and justify it by paying 30 cents more in gas. Well that didn't cover the cost. I was forced to work over 14-16 hours a day 6 days a week. No matter how many times I told them I did not want to do that or couldn't. They would force me to work posts where if you leave you would be fired. I was lucky to get 4 hours of sleep per day. Didn't matter how many forced favors I did. After they lost their major contracts there was no work. The office got too busy to answer any calls. All of a sudden you could not get a hold of anyone to find out what happened. Had no choice but to find another job. I tried the company a few years later to see if they changed. I was wrong. It got worse. For armed posts they prefer Navy Seal training for $15.50. For other sites they expect you to say goodbye to everyone, family friends, etc. and work 60 plus a week, for $14 Armed or 70 plus a week for minimum wage. I can tell you from experience this is a horrible company to work for. If the supervisors see they can't use you like a piece of toilet paper you're not useful to them."

"I wouldn't waste any more time than you need to. Management looks down on you like you're a piece of crap because they think they are better than anyone, especially if they have any college education. If you work extra they will find some way of screwing you out of it, by making false promises. For 4 months they have said they had us a pay raise, but once again just lies. You have no chance of advancement with this company especially in Alabama."

"This company is a joke. For a normal armed post they want you to literally have Special Forces or Navy Seals training for 15 bucks a hour. They refuse to give anyone a chance if you aren't military. It doesn't matter how many permits you have or how much experience. They hire military since they lost a major contract."

"I've worked for this company after coming out of the military. The reason why I left this company is because I saw no upward mobility. Several times, I have applied for a higher position with more responsibilities. My experience with the military has allowed me to become a better leader, a proven trainer, and an overall asset to any place that would employ me. Unfortunately, this company is unable to see my worth even after several attempts applying for another position. I have seen other military veterans who have far more experience and higher ranking than myself reduced to a mere door greeter simply because the company doesn't really seek out its internal talents. This company was better off when it was owned by the Americans."
