"Make sure you understand the flat hierarchy - if you are gunning for management, this isn't the place. If you're not, make sure you understand what you want to do, and that the job requirements are a good match."

What don't you like about working at Four Rivers Software Systems?

"They struggle to make the best use of their employees talents - focusing instead on what they want someone to do, rather than matching up strengths to needs. They also tend to operate in fireman mode, putting out fires rather than preventing them (this comes from the trend of not wanting to hear the truth)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The main cultural problem is the trend towards telling our CEO what he wants to hear, rather than what is the truth. The company didn't used to be that way, and had less employee turnover/dissatisfaction."
