"An excellent company to work for as long as you were located in the main campus. If you were based in alternative location outside the Juno / West Palm area you were treated very differently than those located in the main office areas. The company vision shown by senior management and the communication from group level leadership never seemed to match. Really just like any other large corporation. Overall the company does an excellent job at keeping the lights on."
"Superior inclusive and respectful culture. People share knowledge in the interest of continuous improvement. Constantly trying new things and learning."

"Interesting company with great programs for full-time employees. Contractors, not so much."
"I have worked with FPL for two years. They are great to work with. The managers a greatly understanding."
"I have worked here since 2008. Since I've been here I've watched big management pay increase while benefits and pay for mid level and lower employees has stagnated or decreased. Project Managers here are given responsibility yet no authority and are doomed to fail from the start. Technical resources are hindered by a seemingly permanent attachment to IE6&7 and a totally firewalled server environment with access requests routinely denied for critical business processes. Innovation is hindered"
"In my belief, FPL is one of the best run companies in America."
"Run away from this company."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"While the compensation package, including gym, health care center, cafeteria, etc. may be decent, there is no work/life balance and no time to use these benefits....especially during hurricane season, which is mandatory. The physical toll on your body from working 18-20 hr days, 7 days/wk is unrealistic. There are much better companies to work for."
What don't you like about working at Florida Power & Light?
"Senior management's lack of expertise, trust and respect for the employees (i.e., VP arrested for domestic violence; manager fired for sexual harassment)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Empower your people without micro managing, and don't give them an unachievable work and then say make it happen."
