"I worked at First Command for 22+ years. World Class organization"
"I worked for First Command for almost 5 years. The company has a great mission...to help military clients succeed financially. The culture overall is good but declined in my group after a management change. I would recommend the company in general but not in my former group."
"First Command is a military company for military people, both clients and employees. Very little training is provided and you are let loose on the world with no direction or help. First year goals are all based upon selling insurance which should have been my first clue as to what this company really is: a glorified insurance company. They have a wonderful managed funds program but the payouts are so insanely low, you'll never make a living off of your AUM. You need to be constantly selling whole life insurance or your time with First Command will be short-lived."

"Negotiate the salary you want when coming in. They will not allow you to raise your salary even if you move to a higher paid position."
What don't you like about working at First Command Financial Services?
"I have serious concerns for the future of this company. There are people in high positions that are here for a party and want to leave with as much money in their pockets as they can take. So much self absorption and infidelities with management make working here like watching an Aaron Spelling TV show."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"There's a serious lack of leadership in my management branch. The management style of our VP is like a toddler who sees something shiny. My direct manager has zero power to make decisions. We're all left to drift wistfully with the lack of direction from our VP."
