"A very politically motivated workplace. The old boys network rules all, and innovation that allows for the job to be accomplished efficiently is stifled by bureaucracy. The money is OK, but expect to travel 95% of the time and be treated like a replaceable part by an underqualified supervisor."

"We need more cohesion and organization. We also need standardized processes and procedures to ensure that employee tasks are redundant and repeatable."

"Tread carefully. Few are hired on interviews, it is who you know that can sponsor you into the agency."

What don't you like about working at FEMA?

"The politics are incredibly counterproductive and dangerous. Lots of management officials in jobs they are unqualified for. Scary!!!"
