"I like the part of my job that is watching out for real life emergencies that could impact the people we monitor. The main basis and responsibilities of the job are right up my alley."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be prepared to feel inadequate by your co-workers but appreciated by the customers whose lives and property you protect and save. When the system works, you feel amazing and like you make a difference in the world. I receive more customer compliments than any positive feedback from management. They are extremely busy and overwhelmed, so try not to need anything."
What don't you like about working at F.E. Moran?
"The co-workers WILL email your boss to specifically get you in trouble and make you feel worthless, even if its a minor screw-up i.e. going to the restroom, transfering to the wrong dept OR emailing the wrong Joe when there are 7 of them in the same office. if you miss an hour or more due to illness, even if you bring a doctor's note to prove where you were, you are significantly cut down."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Not be rude when asked for help. I would speak to people like they do actually have feelings and realize that I need to change my tone or attitude for different employees. I would definitely not cut someone down in front of everyone else. I would also utilize the employees I have for various projects and not take on everything myself and expect sympathy. I would empathize with my employees."
