"The lack of respect from the administration regarding teachers and support staff - i.e, no pay increases for at least 2 years, budget cuts that greatly effect teachers and support staff jobs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Cut out all of the upper level administration positions and leave the actual SCHOOLS alone!"

"The flexibility, which was needed while I was completing my dissertation. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the places I worked. The teachers and administrators were welcoming and friendly."

"No, just be yourself, honest and professional."

What don't you like about working at Fairfax County Public Schools?

"Well, the renumeration were less than I expected. Sometimes the informtion was not correct at the office when I arrived. However, they would problem solve fairly quickly."

"Have a central processing unit to process information from office to schools."

"Be prepaired for a three part interview, with a break/fix part, a presentation and written test."

"I liked everything about working there except the pay was a bit below the market."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think the management does and excellent job and I would suggest keeping it up."

"A great place to work. The teachers really enjoy support and expertise of people willing to provide service. But with too many supervisory obstacles, technicians quickly loose enthusiasm for providing great service.Supervision often cuts the technician with double dealing and outright subterfuge. The teachers are very grateful for good work. I enjoy doing what the teachers and staff need and want."

"I worked for FCPS for only 1 year, but I had an overall positive experience with the administration and the staff members I worked with on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the school I was placed at was severely underfunded in comparison with other schools in the same district, which made resources difficult to come by."
