"The company is Electroglas. I enjoyed integrating a division into the larger parent. This taught me how to politic in a large company sucessfully."

"Be prepared. Understand where the company has come from and their current plans to regrow the business."

What don't you like about working at Electroglas?

"I was recruited to go to Leica after Electroglas stole a huge order from Leica that they thought they had in the bag."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The firm has greatly downsized since I left. As I do not know the current management or their strategies, it would be difficult to offer suggestions with reengaging with the team."

"History and tradition of one of the original semiconductor equipment manufacturers, contact with industry legends who worked there."

"They need to win back a few selected large customers to start in the right direction. If you can help EG here you will do very well."

What don't you like about working at Electroglas?

"Disjointed and ambiguous company direction set by executive staff. While our customers were asking for traditional tools, company invested in process management software."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"New management (now 4 iterations since I left) tried to refocus on products that customers wanted, but the market is in a horrible downturn. Duck and cover, take private and shed as much cost as you can to come out the other end."
