"I recently retired from ETS after almost 20 years. Headquartered in New Jersey it administers assessments around the world. It has has a mission to advance education. Most employees are long tenured. The company is currently trying to re-focus in a difficult market for educational assessments."

"I've worked for ETS for seven years. While I enjoy working remotely and having a schedule that reflects an entire month, I have never received a raise, and my salary for some scoring programs has actually been decreased to "equalize" the hourly rate of all raters and scoring leaders."

"I worked with ETS for more than 3 years and while the office I worked in had no growth opportunity, it did allow for the development of professional skill sets in Operations. The management team were at times stringent, however, it was all part of mentoring you for the next position. Excellent benefits package."

"I have worked for ETS for thirteen years as both a Rater and Scoring Leader for their TOEFL iBT Speaking Test. For the first eleven years I was able to make a living wage while working from home. The past two years has seen a huge decrease in foreign test takers due to political issues here in the USA. Even with the decrease in test takers the company continued to hire new raters and scoring leaders causing an extreme decrease in work hours for those already employed. Treating long-term employees this way has been a very poor decision on the part of management."

"ETS is unlike any other company. It is a hybrid of an educational non-profit sponsoring all kinds of research and player in the commercial market for educational testing. Some of its products, including the GRE, produce safe revenue for the company, but are not high growth. But more are needed. The role of a research scientist is to contribute to the research in a way that helps the company create new products for the market. It's fun, Maybe the company is not the most agile."
