"Exposure to senior leadership is everything - even more than your annual reviews. Take the 'entrepreneurial spirits' mantra to heart. Those who come up with new ideas will succeed."

"Demanding environment; work/life balance is a joke. Senior leadership is often out of touch with the realities of the people on the ground. Too many egos."

"Connect and listen better to junior staff members; put more structure in place for career guidelines."

"Don't expect the highest salary offer; the benefits are good, take advantage of them; they're very big on work/life balance so be prepared to discuss what you enjoy outside of work. They value digital solutions for every client so be prepared to speak traditional PR and digital."

"Power struggle among superiors, rampant inefficiencies willfully ignored, compensation on the low end vs. competitors, Lack of a consistent, clear goals and structure-- no org chart, lack of a clear focus in the business model"

"Choose between competing execs in NYC and Chicago one to lead the group; map all processes and use TQM methodologies to maximize efficiencies; modify P&L so one internal group doesn't have to fight with another over revenue, and both can focus instead on the client"
