What do you like about working at Staples?

"I enjoy working with people and customers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't work for them .....you will be exploited to sell as much as you can, and if you don't, you will be corrected as not being a good employee. Even if you helped out many customers and recieved positive feed back from the customer."

What don't you like about working at Staples?

"Their training video's teach tell you to help the customer, but it is all about making them money, not helping the customer. On the floor, Staples managers tell the employee to sell beyond what the customer came for or wants. The whole corporation is about numbers, not the well being and proper treatment of people (customers or employees). Staples pushes the managers to push the employee to get as much as you can out of the customers wallet, by instructing you how to sell through manipulating tactics, and to convert the customer to buy extended service plans and extra items. Most of the time it's a fear tactic. This is a corporation run on employee enslavement. Staples is like an ever complaining unsatified person always expecting more. Due to the Staples corporations ever increasing expectations and overbearing demand on their employees, the employees are continually experiencing an abusive environment, which is unhealthy to sustain and why they have a constant turn-over of help."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Restructure your company by reduced demand and expectation. Yes, this means taking somewhat of a loss in profit. Although if you truly care about helping your customers and creating a healthy and comfortable environment for both the consumer and the employee, sacrafices msut be made. In conclusion, I don't think that Staples corporation wants profit sacrifice for human well being. In end, for Staples, it is all about the Almighty Dollar (Clearly that's what they uphold as the highest standard. Truly a sad concept and legacy to display for the human race and its history."
