"The ability to be creative and grow program is part of the success of Western Maryland AHEC. Staff are cooperative, friendly, and most skilled. Once you work at Western Maryland AHEC you are part of the family.When it comes to growing a position to include more scope and responsibility, this AHEC does it. Leadership is developed. Employees are respected and have the leeway to impact agency growth. Benefits are good and the Board supports keeping benefits through a tough economy. The one downside is there is no significant gain of a financial reward in compensation other than small incremental increases for staff in comparison to comparable work in other parts of the state of Maryland or nationally. Allegany County where this AHEC is located has a medium income of $39,087."
