"I worked for Digium from June 2007 through June 2013. I got the job because of my heavy Linux and Asterisk experience. The job did not pay very well at first, but it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to work with a company that had developed such a cool technology as Asterisk. I came in after the end of the startup phase, so some of the really lucrative perks had stopped being available. Even so, within a year I was offered pretty good stock options."
