"I love meeting and getting to know business owners and help them grow their business. When the products we sell work as they should, it is awesome! However, most of the time the products do not work as we promote it and the customers get angry, discouraged and end up leaving us. This makes me and the company look bad. We were told that this is just the way things work in this industry and we should just get comfortable with it."

What don't you like about working at Hearst?

"Senior management had a yellow page mentality and a churn and burn philosophy. This is a digital company who has stiff competition. Sometimes the clients were not treated fairly by senior management and those in power to make decisions."

"It has been a great starting point in my career."

What do you like about working at The Daily Comet?

"I love that I get to meet new people daily. My job is a blast because I am always learning and meeting new people. I love that I get to work with new advertising and marketing technology"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviewing is all about both showing what you are great at and not being too showy about it. Find the balance between boasting and humility. Also remember that there is always something that you can learn from anyone in the company."

What don't you like about working at The Daily Comet?

"They are not digital minded; very focused on our print products. After all, this is a newspaper, but unfortunately, print is a dying medium, and it seems hard for the company to move forward with any new digital products. We were just sold by the New York Times to Halifax Media, and although I was excited in the very beginning of the buy out, it seems that Halifax does not see the benefit of digital media."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management is good, they just need a refresher course. I have learned a lot from my direct manager and the publisher, but they often forget that there is a diplomatic, calm solution to every issue. Although I must say that I very much enjoy working alongside the managers here because they treat me like an equal even though I am much newer' than them."
