Working at Diane's Beachwear in Laguna Beach, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

Assistant Manager

What do you like about working at Diane's Beachwear?

"Interesting company. Locally started and expanded quickly. Like all retail chains, some stores carry better merchandise depending on their location."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Keep looking while you work, there are much better companies out there"

What don't you like about working at Diane's Beachwear?

"My personal manager. Complete Debbie downer. Always depressed. Always negative. Really sucked the wind right out of my sailA really unreasonable amount of paper work to do each day. Like working in retail in the 50s. A complete disregard of labor laws. You can't clock an employee out on break or lunch and then demand that they stay and work. Will do anything to avoid paying overtime."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Organization. Stop moving out of season merchandise into stores just to get rid of it. You won't sell a lot of puffy jackets on the beach in June!! Have a realistic sales goal. For the month. Most stores don't triple the previous years sales in a recession.Make sure you have competent store managers. Employee schedules should not be changing constantly throughout the week. Your employees have lives of their own and they organize that life around the original schedule.Make sure your corporate people are doing their jobs. You shouldn't have to leave multiple voicemails to get a call back."
