"Have worked for Dell on and off over the last 15 years or so (two 5+ year stints). People who work hard are recognized and move up. Have seen this many times. They compensate well. There are a lot of unknowns now that the company has gone private, so I don't know how that will change things. I took an early retirement package because it was clear to me that the trend is to ship test engineering overseas."
