"David Weekley Homes was a blessing for me to ever be a part of and work for. Even though they no longer had enough room for me, I was thankful for the time and education they gave me. I only worked there for about six months, but in that time I gained skills that I will be able to bring with me wherever I go. I excelled in my position in an industry that was brand new to me and I literally knew nothing about, but that did not stop me from learning new things every day on how to make myself better and familiarize myself with the industry every day."

"Fake team environment, very cut throat"

What do you like about working at David Weekley Homes?

"Vision of owner, working with customers, sales training program in Houston, 401k match"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared for the few tenured employees to get nasty with you. There is a pecking order and if you do well and threaten the status quo expect to have backlash. You will be the problem if you decide to speak out against the backlash and will be told you are throwing said employee under the bus.. If you can handle that type of environment, you can do well. Other areas may be better/ may follow national company procedures."

What don't you like about working at David Weekley Homes?

"Unprofessional, use and abuse people, lie to employees at the bottom to manipulate them example telling builder if they work on christmas eve they will make the goals for the entire team when it has already been met, fuzzy numbers in meetings everyone out for #1 only, gossipy clique environment, sales coach for florida state is horrible and lies to advance her best friends and degrades others-reads straight from DW handbook-um anyone can do that. Do I really need to go in on my day off to be treated like a preschooler No actual sales managent. You will be answering to a builder that doesnt get sales or appreciate that it is hard work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Value your sales people and builders not just the very few who have been there a lengthy time. Create a professional environment and eliminate backbiting. Demand that all people be treated with basic respect even if a tenured employee is in a mood. Tampa is a hostile work environment lawsuit waiting to happen. Its crazy what is tolerated there. It doesnt matter if its the construction industry. Its not ok for people to be yelled at and called names and belittled."
