"I enjoy the people I work with. They are intelligent and hard working professionals."

"Be straightforward with what you are looking for in a job. If you only want to gain professional experience and not move up then this might be right for you. If you want a company to stay at where you can contribute to you may want to look elsewhere."
What don't you like about working at Measured Progress?
"The power structure is too rigid. All decisions are made my the division head and he often only wants the solution he is looking for."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"To listen to the ideas of their employees. Ultimately a good manager will train their team to solve problems and then trust them to do it."

"Good compensation and good coworkers. The work was interesting and stimulating."

"Make sure it is for either a long term temp position or permanent position."
What don't you like about working at MTV Networks?
"That they seemed to primarily use temp workers and rotated through employees. It's a pet peeve of mine."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Bring on full time workers in longer term positions, who can learn the ins and outs of the job and produce work of a higher quality than just rotating workers in and out."

"Overall, it's a good company to work for in any department except IT"

"Executive management does not understand what it takes to get the job done. They take the IT staff for granted and belittle their involvement in the bottom line of the organization. The idea of 'getting more done with less (staff)' is really getting tiring. Hiring 40+ consultants in IT instead of looking for full-time qualified IT staff to do the same work."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"To spend a week or a day in some of the employees shoes -- those that actually do the work that results in the bottom lines you like to report and reap the benefits for. Realize that all of the staff, not just select few exist and do have lives outside of the company; just like they do."

"Be logical. No one here faults you for an idea or solution if you have data and logic behind it."

"Communication amongst teams could be better, and overall interaction across the org can be difficult at times."

"The work is too easy and I can not learn what I want to learn."

"I hope to have more work to do and learn more things."

"Very little. You don't lose seniority when switching to another department."

"If you are intending to try for management, ask current managers for mentoring opportunity. It is too easy to get stuck in the analyst series for 10+ years or more!"
What don't you like about working at United States Government?
"Top Administrators changes every 4 years or less. We are driven & tossed by elections. Current boss doesn't want to learn our software, so is trying to make everyone here convert to the software he already knows. Current boss is a new manager, & is pretty lousy at it at this time -- can't keep a steady course & keeps changing his mind & forcing me to redo things over & over."

"Try to stay on a steadier course, rather than having his staff re-do the same project over & over each time the boss changes his mind."
What do you like about working at University of California, Riverside?
"It's nice to be surrounded by intellectual people and know at the end of the day that, in my own small way, I'm helping to raise money for good causes. It's also close to my house!"

"Don't work for the Development or Advancement department. The work atmosphere is toxic!"

"I feel like I have four bosses, and they all have no idea what they're asking me and my co-workers to do. They are incredibly indecisive and don't trust us to do our jobs."

"I would trust my employees to do their job, encourage collaboration, give credit where credit is due, and allow for more flexibility on one's work schedule."

"There are many inefficiencies that are experienced on a daily basis, and there is horrid micromanagement throughout many departments. Luckily, not in mine."

"I would pay employees more, and I would allow more people to work off-site."

"The culture of inefficiency, laziness and incompetence. Dealing with people who have been promoted for no other reason than time in service. The total lack of communication between our office and higher headquarters and within higher headquarters."

"hold the corporate staff accountable for their missteps and failures."

"Stong and stable company. Lots of dedicated and long time associates, but as a result is somewhat stuck in the way we've allways done it mentality."

"Slow moving, and somewhat undynamic. Mostly boring, stagnant and unglamorous."
