"You'll get the job as they are always training a new group every week, but what does that tell you"

What don't you like about working at Darden Restaurants?

"Conflicting time requirements such as 30 sec to greet table / run hot food Can't Say NO....Can you guess what happens when your seated a party (or triple seated!) that has been waiting an hour+ for a table while running hot food And too many other rules to mention here anyone of which lands you in the office with happy managers !I understand the rush at a busy resturant and how to handle it well (been doing it well 40+ years) ."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The company line When you are here you are family, as seen from the inside, is just another corporate PR campaign. I.E. 100+ positive guest comments = It's what your supposed to do. Then along comes the free food seeker......Where is my fast food (McDonalds) service My fork is dirty the server is TERRIBLE..etc.. Manager Come see me at the end of your shift =mandatory writeup etc.I understand you want to maximize the bottom line and The guest is always right but must you sacrifice your employees on that Altar There is no way over a long period of server employment to not accumulate guest complaints (be they server errors or guest fishing) no matter HOW good you are. I think they know this, its just another form of control, so when ever they feel like it you are history.Too many Absolute rules that do not reflect the server front line reality.P.S.Of Course remember these are polcy's generated at the top so even the local GM's are forced into the role."
