"I've worked for Dallas ISD on and off for 20 years. Unfortunately, because of political challenges in Dallas, the management has been stymied in their attempts to maintain or repair facilities, HR processes, IT resources, etc. So while I'm still attracted to the nature of being a teacher (an adult standing in front of students, teaching them academics) the business side of the organization has been providing substandard support to both teachers and students."
"I prefer more responsibility. I am a substitute, currently, with DISD. I have very little interaction with down-town administration, working mostly with teachers and principals, and working with the kids. I actually get along very well, with the people I routinely work with. I substitute all over the district, and see the best and the more challenging classrooms. I have been able to manage them all."
