Operations Coordinator

"One of the best things I found working at IDQ (Dairy Queen, Corporate Office) was the collaborative nature of the office. I never heard "that's not my job" or "go talk to someone else". I worked in Operations but found this mentality to permeate the entire corporate office. Everyone was always helpful and seemed happy to help. This is not common in all corporate settings! Not even close. There is an excellent work-life balance as well.Their offices are beautiful and full of natural light. It was an excellent place to work. (I was laid off due to budget cuts; my position was rather new or I would still be there.)"

"I have worked for Dairy Queen since April of 2019. The Franchise, Fourteen Foods, is the largest franchise of Dairy Queens with roughly 250 different locations all across the United States. They are Smile Servers and love the community as much as the community loves them. We pride ourselves on customer service, cleanliness, and product quality."

"Doesn't pay fair wages. It may be 3 to 5 years before a raise... $7.25. Who can live off that? It's sad that the government would allow business to not give fair wages."

"I've worked here for 2 weeks, put in my effort and tried to be an effective member of the workplace. Unfortunately I was fired hastily, also the pay is not good. My co-workers all said the same thing, they work here because they've got no were else to work. Pretty depressing."

"I worked for Dairy Queen for almost a year, and hated every minute of it. I quit in May of 2013. My co-workers were great, and my manager was okay, but it is not the sort of job I would recommend to anyone. The hours were long and in the summer you usually work over what you were scheduled for, meaning you didn't leave until 11:30 pm or later. You're given an hour to clean the whole shop after a long day full of frustrating customers and dysfunctional equipment, all for $8/hr, no raises."

"They hired me and then fired me in only a week."

What do you like about working at Dairy Queen?

"I got to make some money and make some customers happy."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Simple, don't apply here unless you want to be screwed over."

What don't you like about working at Dairy Queen?

"They hired me for my first job and only trained me for about an hour and then sent me to the mall to work without any more training and expected me to work at the level of everyone else who has been working there for over three years. They then fired me a week later saying that I was too slow, when they fired me they had a coworker that wasn't even a manager call me and inform me instead of the boss. Coworkers were completely unhelpful and yelled at me for not being as fast as them even though I wasn't trained."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn how to properly hire and train. Don't fire someone after only a week when they are trying their absolute best."
