"I have worked for Cumberland County Schools for 4 years. As a SED Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year, I have found it to be too overwhelming, too much information that you do not have time to digest, no family time, and the school/county still asks for more. SED teachers have 100% more to deal with than a regular classroom teacher and there is no increase in pay. I have been kicked, bitten, hit, called names, etc. You name it, it has happened in my classroom. There is no real support. The children only have 10 days the whole school year for suspension. Which means when I get kicked, bitten, etc., the child is only suspended for a day, then returns the next day to repeat the same behaviors. Who would want to stay in a profession like this? I'm looking daily for another career."
"I have worked with CCS for almost 4 years now and I have been trained and valued as a hard-working individual. My supervisor and co-workers have made this working experience wonderful."
"As a lateral entry teacher, it was a little difficult to advance because of the cutbacks that were the effects from the condition of the U.S. economy."
