"Covidien was changing all the time and always had new products. Presented great opportunity for advancement."

What do you like about working at Covidien?

"I liked working with the organizations that wanted to succeed and grow, specifically the R&D, Porfolio and Strategy organization along with Marketing for my specific division. There was an alignment of what needed to be done and we were able to work globally with our counterparts to be in alignment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Exhibit signs of leadership and ability to grow, but be comfortable with a maintaining culture."

What don't you like about working at Covidien?

"The culture is of a medical device company, which is slow in adoption of new systems and technologies. It is also a hierarchical culture, which requires countless reviews and approvals by senior level executives which was a minimum of 8 to 12, which slowed down the process. Often the market is changing and waiting for a unanimous decision by leadership is a detriment to people's innovativeness and team dynamics."

"At times too much relocation necessary."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"This is a great company and I strongly recommend it. The only reason I left was due to the fact that several production plants were closing down for restructuring purposes."
