"Costco Wholesale as a company has a lot of benefits, and is a strong and growing company which I would highly recommend working for. Unfortunately, the Orland Park, IL location has a general manager that has been there far longer than the company policy typically allows, which has given her a strong level of comfort in treating the employees as sub-human. It is of incredible rarity that she utters even a single word of support. Excellent company, poor location."

"The company itself is a great company to work for. As for management and employees, you can't choose who you work with. A lot of employees are old school and are inevitable to change, so if changes occur then let the complaints begin, and you'll never hear the end of it."

"I started working for Costco Wholesale in 2011 as a potter, then moved up and became a cashier, and from there I became warehouse maintenance because of my work ethic and positive attitude towards success . Working for this company has been a great opportunity/experience, and has proven to me that success and promotion are both available through hard work and dedication. This job has given me skills such as customer service, machine operating, forklift and scissor lift operating, and much more."

"The company itself is a great place, but horrible at the management level. Supervisors and managers there are not organized and they all operate on a friend/position relationship. In other words if you don't hold a high job position or have close relation you will not be taken care of."

"I feel very strongly that I am very fortunate to be working for such a wonderful company. I worked for more than a few corporations since graduating from College in 97. But these last 11 years have been amazing. I knew it my first week here that I was home.HOWEVER, opportunity is tight here as many people have more than 20 years of experience so most of the best jobs here are already taken. The one big plus is our growth annually means opportunity is still possible."

What do you like about working at Costco?

"Lots of opportunities for advancing with the company if you're interested. Benefits and hourly pay best I've seen in retail below management level."
