"They train the sales reps to pressure and intimidate. irritate and torment customers: If you want a job for low pay that has commission where you have to fight for a nickel then this is the job for you. Also, the management is horrible from top to bottom."
"A small business that offers its employees PTO including holidays, vacation and sick. The company also offers medical and dental benefits, insurance and 401k matching benefits. The company rewards honest, hardworking employees and has a very good long term employee base. The owner cares about the employees and helps them with work and personal difficulties when he is able. Employees local to the corporate office work in a professional office environment. The company holds picnics and Halloween costume contests as well as other holiday festivities. The company is also open to alternative work environments. The company also has a casual dress code."
"I am currently employed with Construction Journal for several years. I was thoroughly trained before beginning my position. I am challenged to meet deadlines, which keeps me sharp and accurate. Whenever I have need for help, the team is always there to assist with any dilemma. This is a very satisfying company to work for. The co-workers, benefits, PTOs and so much more make for a happy working relationship. I am very proud to have a position with this company and would recommend to keep doing what they are doing."
"I've been working at Construction Journal for over a year now and enjoy my time. I work from home, so I don't have face-to-face interaction with my team members, but we do talk on the phone and instant message. They are always attentive and quick to respond to my questions and requests. I have had a positive experience."
"Worked from my home for 7 years with this company. I really liked the computer work looking for construction articles and submitting them (I liked working from home in my pajamas). I handled the east coast from Naples to Panhandle of FL. I also did on site reporting once a week by visiting the county permitting office. I also made phone calls to other permitting offices outside my territory. Raises are basically non-existent for the Field Reporters. My son was making more than me bagging groceries. Also, sometimes management in Stuart did not know what the other hand was doing. Several times I got "told" about not submitting information (for a territory that was not even mine). After about the 3 time of getting "accused" of not doing the work (work that was not assigned for me to do) I spoke up - that was it - they let me go. I also mailed in articles and they said that a project was not submitted on time. Their fax system was down so I had to mail it in, and I can't control the mail. So - not that really understanding after being there 7 years, then poof, gone. Now several years later I don't think they have ever hired anyone to cover this side of the coast or they are just doing the work in house. The people (employees) I encountered by phone were always nice; which was a plus."
"High turnover tells the story here. No training whatsoever. The owner of the company has been known to yell and scream at the sales staff. 15,000 outbound sales calls for 71 sales make this company below a "boiler room"."
