Working at Connection III Entertainment in Los Angeles, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

Connection III Entertainment Employee

"This company and its promise of championing diversity seemed like a good fit for me. However, upon attending an interview at the job site, I was left confused and somewhat exasperated at Connection III's corporate environment. Generally, after a decade as a professional media planner, I have not been asked to test for a position in forever. However, I reluctantly agreed to test for this one and I aced it with plenty of time to spare. I was immediately invited in for an interview. The manager from Connection III invited me to come in for what was the most unusual interview I have ever experienced. This same company rep that summoned me to the company's L.A. location was very rude and standoffish from the get-go and then proceeded to very obviously ignore me upon my arrival and throughout the entire interview. The situation proved to be awkward and uncomfortable. And I remain baffled by it. The manager did not and would not make eye contact at all, which was obvious and unusual. Then, during my pitch for the job, he is looking past me and watching the TV that is on a wall in the distance. Bizarre at best. When I asked questions about the available role, he was evasive about basic information. I, of course, began to wonder why this was happening and could only surmise that perhaps I, a qualified professional, was brought in to help the company meet some kind of profiling of applicants. Also, the reason I applied was because Connection III claims to champion diversity in its staff, but I saw no example of this during my office visit. All in all, thus was a frustrating waste of time, and I am fortunate to have experienced the unusual corporate culture here before going any further. I left the interview knowing it was a bad fit and thus let the management know that it was not a good fit. Live and learn."
