What do you like about working at Computer Sciences Corp?

"I love the people I work with locally, but report to a manager back east that has never met me. Her management style is rude and abrupt. Encouragement and praise is never spoken and she refuses to apologize when wrong. Another manager I work with here is a recent MBA graduate and expects everyone else to live up to her standards and expectations. I love my job if left to do it, but micro-management by the females in a management capacity is quite exhausting. Makes me feel defeated, worthless, by the end of the day."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Honestly, it all depends on who you are reporting to. I do not recommend a long distance management scenario. Work with local teams only."

What don't you like about working at Computer Sciences Corp?

"This is it. Micro-management to a point that it is counter-productive. Expectations are set at an MBA level, when we are just regular people trying to make a living doing someone we are capable of and enjoy doing. The Corporation requires we take mandatory training on A Respectful Workplace, yet allows and protects their managers. It is embarrassing and we are on-site at a government defense contract. Their managers see how hard they are on us and the attrition is the worst I have ever seen. I would love to find a job where my talents are appreciated and I feel that I have worth as a person and employee. This is by far, the worst company I have ever worked at, management-wise. It actually sickens me to walk through the doors some days and the stress is so high some people have BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORS in their cubicles! Trust me. I am not alone in feeling this is a horrible place to work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would recognize the efforts of my staff and encourage them with the positive work they do. I haven't heard a compliment from my manager, ever - and I have never met her face to face. She lives in Massachusetts and is rude. CSC boasts how their employees deserve to work in a respectful workplace, yet my boss screams at me and slams down the phone, then refuses to communicate with me. Employee Relations looked into it, and sided with their manager who lied and turned it around as if there is a performance issue, when she was just trying to cover her tracks. There have been numerous EEOC violations. I wish I had reported her unprofessional actions."
