"Development of teaching skills and the education that American Hallways provided to the clinicians about the chronic diseases that we managed."

What don't you like about working at Healthways?

"Too much micro-management. It became a numbers game versus the quality of the education that is provided to the health plan members. Professional autonomy and critical thinking was replaced with automated scripts. Patients should be treated as individuals, not as typical cookie cut objects."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Promote clinicians who are skilled and motivated, not those who you can mold into a puppet."
