What do you like about working at Colorado Springs Utilities?

"Great benefits and retirement program; job security (the company seriously does all it can to avoid having to lay people off and realizes necessary job reductions through normal attrition)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to make it completely obvious you are the best choice for a job as the hiring managers are not good at interviewing."

What don't you like about working at Colorado Springs Utilities?

"Ineffective middle management and too many layers. My direct supervisor is great to work for, but the position itself is not needed. The next level up manager is more focused on positioning for the next job. Bad managers and supervisors are allowed to exist and those who hire for these positions don't know how to make a good hiring decision."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be more visible and engaging with employees. Too much time is spent reacting to political environment due to the mayor and the Gazette. If you make the right decisions for the right reasons, don't worry about it too much."
