"Lack of trust pervades the company culture, executive micromanagement and meddling, engineering team has lost its mojo and struggles with delivery and quality, role of SRE misunderstood, WLB is the worst - unreasonable deadlines and workloads, lack of respect for employee’s evenings, weekends, meeting-free blocks, well-being days, etc."

"I worked at Cohesity for a little over 1 year. I got to work with some of the best technical people. But the middle management is quite clueless and fire people left and right like there's no tomorrow. I was reporting to a manager and a tech lead who were never aligned in their goals. As a new grad, I didn't receive any guidance despite explicitly requesting from my manager and tech lead. The office is pretty cliquey with old teammates and classmates reuniting to form teams. One thing I noticed after leaving is that I will actually not be vested with the promised RSUs due to some clever legal conditions. Be very careful and maybe hire an attorney to look at your offer. If you have other offers, definitely pursue them. The company conducted it's first 360 peer feedback last year's fall. The process involved me suggesting some peers to the manager out of whom a subset would be asked by the manager to give me feedback. This seemed a bit different from my understanding. I never got to know what my actual performance rating was. The feedback I got was neutral to positive. Though I think that would be subjective because I saw only 4-5 line general opinions on me rather than structured, actionable feedback. I was let go immediately after my 1-on-1 meeting with my manager where I addressed these issues. This was a big surprise to me given that I did not have major complaints. I was not told why I was being let go. When I mentioned some of the above issues to my manager, he suggested that I mention them as my feedback in my exit interview. If you are a new grad with no experience in office politics, stay away from Cohesity because you have neither the technical clout nor the political skills. The tech work might be the only saving grace. There are some great teams but you should demand to talk to your actual teammates during the interviews. I saw several veterans and even newcomers leave in a short while."

"I became a Product Quality Engineer from an Intern at Cohesity. It was a rapidly growing start-up with it's own business challenges, but that was the interesting part of it too. I learnt so much about products, processes, business operations and learnt to resolve challenges swiftly and continue improving things."
