"If you are a sales rep this is not the place for you. If you are an operation person who wants to be a sales representative this is your place. Company turns a sales role into a customer service role. Stuck in 80's management style. Most sales people have no drive because that is the model. Compensation is base plus bonus, really can't control success/failure. Basically, has grown from acquisition and no real sales modeling or focus. Upper and middle management have no background in sales."

"I have worked for Clean Harbors for well over 6 years now and there has been some improvements, but there still is a long way to go for recognition, training and overall future growth within the ranks of IT here and they should really look at restructuring the levels of positions within groups here."

"Could be a great place but poor just go do it attitude with little information from supervisors, antiquated equipment, little support. Pay pretty much remains at what you start at with minimal increases. Work environment, including offices and rest rooms unsanitary. Lot of pressure and stress to workers very little gratitude and appreciation."

"Did not have my first day of work until 45 days after being offered the job. Terrible orientation. Did not set me up to know what I was doing at all. Facilities are horrendous. Department is all about their expenses and profits ratios and therefore do not take care of their people, equipment, or facilities. Often supplies needed are out of stock. Safety is not exactly a priority. It's more like get the work done, whatever it takes. I feel like I have been exposed to many chemicals while working here directly, due to the lack of safety and hygiene procedures here."

"I wanted to start by saying*** don't work for this company****. Management on most levels does not know what they are doing. Go read all the reviews on all the social media sites. You might see a few good reviews from management--of course they are going to say great things..... I want you to focus on the people who actually do the work read what they are saying. It all goes back to horrible management at many levels. They wont tell you up front they require 24-7 on call. they use tactics to manipulate the 24-7 on call. you have to carry a cell phone be fit for duty at all times. (get ready for no life) on call 24-7 as an hourly employee You absolutely should be a paid while on call. (unless paid by salary) if you do accept the job be very careful to watch your pay, mileage, pier diem. Management does not have your back if any issue arises.*** Like I said don't take my word for it read all the working field personnel reviews on all sites just google Clean Harbors reviews*****. This company will lie to you. manipulate situations. they preach safety but go out in the field and see for yourself. its almost a circus. do your family a big favor apply elsewhere! Management is in serious need of an ETHICS CLASS & Management training 101. They do not know what they are doing!"

"Clean Harbors is an acquisition-focused company. It is not an employee-focused company. The CEO brags on CNBC about the billions of dollars in profits then sends letters out annually to employees thanking them for their role in those profits with a comical break down of your benefits value. I find it insulting. Don't send the letters out unless it has a check or a pay increase. The profit money is used to purchase flailing companies. The employees inherited from previous acquisitions are not properly trained, let alone long standing employees..... Raises are not attainable unless you have an offer from another company or have a strong manager that communicates your value efficiently and threatens your leaving if a pay increase is not offered. Mid level employees are stretched thin across all lines of business and departments. When someone quits, the position is no longer available and the workload is dispersed on already overworked individuals. The arrogance felt from the CEO is next level. Believing that this company is a gift to those employed and hard work goes unrewarded. Aside from executive level staff, people are pleasant and easy to get along with."
