Working at City Of Lubbock in Lubbock, TX: 3 Employee Reviews

Intern

"It was an excellent experience to work with the local government for Lubbock, Texas while attending school online per the COVID guidelines. I learned extensively about public policy and office mannerisms around notable public figures, while drafting formal communications for several executive members of the mayor and council staff."

"All work places have politics but this one also has "Politics". If you don't want to end up bitter when you retire only use this place as a jumping off point to something better."

"Very political environment. Most people in charge do not want to change the way things are done because that is how it has always been done. They do not want to spend money on anything worthwhile and we are often left to put bubble gum and band aids on systems that are essential to the companies function. The one good thing is that most of the time the job only requires you to work 8-5. Our benefits are amazing, just very difficult to get anything done."
