"It was a great place to work. After 2000, it got too big and it's not a right place for me."

What do you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"It was a fun and exciting time at Cisco. We were still small and every idea was treated as important to management. I loved it."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I know I wouldn't want to work for Cisco again just because it is too big."

What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"After 2000, the place got too big. Management was from big companies such as DEC, Sun, Apple, and Palm. It changed the Cisco culture and became a big corporate. Top executives have long been removed from their own people. Most of the people are there because of security more then fun."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep in touch with your people. Value their ideas and empower them on day-to-day decisions. Make them feel they are ones who can help build the company."
