Career Path: A person in this position will have a background that includes computer science knowledge and database management. Getting to this point requires a combination of educational credentials and proper training. It is a difficult position to reach in most companies. One should start off in an internship to get a foothold in the industry. From there, becoming a CIO requires hard work and a lot of luck.
