Working at Chili's in Durham, NC: 1 Employee Reviews

Managing Partner

"After spending 6 years with the company I realized they offered a lot, but left a lot on the table to be desired even though it was not practical or able to be acheived."

What do you like about working at Chili's?

"It was a great way to interact with guests, team members and other managers. It gave me the ability to learn every aspect of the managerial field - finance, marketing, accounting, operations, training and development, business development, sales and much more."

What don't you like about working at Chili's?

"The horrendous hours of operations, the multitude of promises that were never kept, the ability to advance through promotion, the constant changing of corporate decisions and policies, surveys and goals that are given out as a focal point and then changing two months later when they are realized incompetent information at best. They also have an inability to realize that in certain economies, profitability should overshadow the amount of sales that are coming through."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Managers that are single or have no quality of life to look forward to would be a perfect fit in this tough environment. The amount of churn in the manager and upper executive ranks is severe, so job security is left to a very thin amount. It is a great to interact with people and learn a lot about operations and overall business development."
