"Be honest, know that you will be in for the adventure of a lifetime if you approach it as such and that if you decide to be happy you will be. If you approach it as a miserable way to pass 4 years of your life it will be that instead."

"Separation from family, not always being able to be there."

"Don't lose sight of the spirit of the Navy that existed when you joined. Look below the surface of tradition and see the other benefits that were gained, instead of simply doing away with or altering things that no longer seem to meet their stated purpose."
