Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"You will see the world. You will learn a lot. You will make thousands of lifetime friends. You will be challenged. Your life will be put in danger. It can be fascinating. It can be boring. You will have fantastic leaders. You will have terrible leaders. You WILL lead. Your career will always be changing. Family life is hard."
What don't you like about working at United States Navy?
"Regulation stifles innovation. When it comes to military engagement, it is understandable, rigid and by the book. But there is a lot of day-to-day work that is mired in waste and in that's-how-it's-done thinking."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Our leadership is constantly changing, so I summed up the average of my leadership in important positions. Most Commanding Officers (emphasize most, not all) are egocentric, raised into an realistic position of privilege. This Naval Officer progression path creates uninformed, demanding egotists hiding uncomfortable lack of confidence. It is not their fault, but the system. They rely on the Chiefs community to make the system function and the rest of the enlisted community to bear the burden of the work. I would remove the existing archaic officer/enlisted communities and combine them into one progressive path."
What do you like about working at United States Navy?
"Team environment. Challenging. Management position. Pay and benefits. I was senior in the military."

"Study, be humble and learn from the people who have been with the company for a long period of time."
What don't you like about working at United States Navy?
"Had to be away from my family. Environment conditions were bad sometimes."

"Management should allow a diversity of ideas to meet goals."

"Long periods of time deployed away from my family. Dangerous work environment."

"The Navy needs to continue to encourage the personal education and training of its Sailors in order to maintain the best educated, and most capable force on Earth."

"The military aspect of the military no longer exists. Talking heads trying to make it into a company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Defending a country takes courage and commitment, and sometimes critical situations requires firm, and possibly abrasive, vocabulary. Tiptoeing around difficult situations only worsens them. Have some guts and backbone, and take charge!"
