2.6 When I began working for Easter Seals Central Texas, it was a nonprofit that provided excellent and ethical direct services to people with disabilities. However, the company has gone rapidly downhill with the change in CEO, due in large part to his lack of knowledge of direct patient care models. This is exacerbated by an unwillingness to include staff with knowledge of direct care in decision-making, resulting in erosion of quality of care with ethical and legal implications.

4.3 United Way does great work in Central Texas. To work there you must be passionate about what you do and have a professional demeanor. Like any job, how well you like it will depend on how well you mesh with the others there. I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed not only working with the CEO, and staff, but with the agencies and board as well.Working there requires being able to communicate and work well with various members of the community. There is always a lot going on!

3.4 I've worked for NCTCOG for 2 1/2 years. The people are all professionals and work extremely hard. The environment is business casual to business. Most of the time there is customer facing activity which leads more to business environments. Salary level is not that great, but it is a workplace that takes the lead from the state government.

Central Texas College, also called CTC, is a community college located in Killeen, Texas. The institution was founded in 1965 and is a public college. As it is located near Fort Hood, the college has a strong history of having military members among its students. In addition to classes that take place at the main campus in Texas, CTC offers classes through e-learning and on several military installations.

CTC currently has over 50,000 students enrolled, many through distance learning. Therefore, the college serves students who are military members deployed overseas, diplomatic personnel and their dependents, plus inmates in correctional facilities around the nation.
