"Have a better means of communicating with perspective emplyees through the HR department. I applied to jobs there after being laid off and never heard from the HR manager. It would be nice to get a letter from them saying yes we will hire you or no we will not."
What do you like about working at Home Depot?
"I enjoyed having the responsibility of being a sub-contractor and dealing with homeowners and their property. When you enter a person's home, you are responsible for a lot more than just completing the required work. You develop a working relationship and put the client at ease."
What don't you like about working at Home Depot?
"For a sub-contractor, it seemed as though management sometimes treated installers as second class citizens. We were all guys trying to earn a decent living."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Go a bit easier on workers in the field. Show appreciation for what a good craftsman can and will accomplish, and he/she will also be more appreciative in return."

"I liked working with the military, working in a hazard pay zone, and the constant excitement."

"Realize that most of the work is in war zones, and is extremely hazardous. Also, realize that no monies are being paid into social security, unemployment compensation, etc."

"I disliked the good ole boy network. It is hard to advance if you don't know someone. A common acronym for KBR was Kin, Brother or Relative, referring to the rampant nepotism."

"Hire from within, promote competence, and fire the inept, instead of transferring them and making it someone else's problem."
