"No upside, no challenge, just work."

Captain at United States Army

What do you like about working at United States Army?

"Got to see the Middle East and deep South U.S. (Virginia and Georgia), got into good shape in Officer Basic Course, fired weapons that I would never have fired up until this point in my life most likely (saw machine guns, 9 millimeters, M-16), experienced mid-day jogs at 137 degree Fahrenheit, realized it was probably a good thing when I did not go in as an enlisted service member and waited until I was an officer. it is a much better position to be in when everyone (almost) refers to you as Sir and salutes you. You also get better living space, by far, as far as I saw. I found that the haircut works well for me and that I wish to pursue similar adventurous lifestyle in my future."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be careful for what you volunteer for. In officer basic course they tell you if the Army is looking for volunteers be wary. If they tell you it is a great position, ponder any ensuing decision well."

What don't you like about working at United States Army?

"I did not like the lack of cooperation from senior officer and peers. The backstabbing would make a decent person nauseous so to speak. I did expect more physically fit officers at the 4th LSO and expected more from several officers in the 3rd Army in terms of personal behavior and admirability. some of them were a far cry from the exemplary soldiers we come across in the media and recruiting ads. The issues with payroll that I experience were egregious and these only took place after I volunteered and served one year of active duty."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep a better watch over your reporting officers and soldiers, there is corruption. You just have to know how to spot it."
