"I’ve been working as a practice medical receptionist for a while now. So many people think our job is easy, but it is the complete opposite. Behind those doors when there are no patients sitting outside in the waiting areas, the management of this company overall is absolutely terrible. We as the front desk people get humiliated and criticized by our own supervisors and even a selected few providers (not all but some) for how we do things. For example, there have been times when I had to get up to go use the restroom in the middle of my shift and apparently, that’s been a problem and doesn’t sit well with certain providers and my supervisor because according to them, I’ve been “ignoring patients who walk in through those doors and not acknowledging them by getting up, turning around, overall pretending not to see them”. At this point, the money isn’t even worth it working for a company that hires management teams that are only good at putting you down, giving you more stress and anxiety, and stepping all over you and your dignity."
