What do you like about working at Cal Poly Pomona?
"California State Polytechnic University of Pomona is actually my university. The company that hired me is a nonprofit organization called Battelle, but the work was done at the university. It was very convience for me to work and go to school at the same time. Occasionally, the company also sent two of their full time staffs down to supervised me and provided all the financial and technical support."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I personally do not have much experience with a formal interview, but a few tips that I have is to believe in yourself and do your best. Be motivated and willing to learn."
What don't you like about working at Cal Poly Pomona?
"For some complex chemicals that required more advance technology to be analyzed, the company agreed to analyzed it for us. However, the head of the company is located in Ohio, so the sample had to be air mailed over. The shipments actually waste a lot of time, and we had a very tide schedule."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Working in school is very convenience, but the technologies and equipments that were available were very limited. I believe if Battelle had allowed my co-workers and I to work in their professional lab, we would had learned much more and obtained much more data and results."
