What do you like about working at Jeld-Wen?
"JELD-WEN was the largest private organization in Oregon. The culture was rich in developing employees into leaders. They have a heavy emphasis on training, and once a person knows where they can help, allowing them to do so."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"JELD-WEN enjoys professionalism, and Business Dress is appropriate for positions in the office environment. Casual but neat dress is appropriate for manufacturing line positions."
What don't you like about working at Jeld-Wen?
"JELD-WEN is not in a large community heavy with services and is somewhat isolated. The people are great, but the rural setting can be a poor match for someone with a lot of expectations from a city environment."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management at JELD-WEN does a great job at preparing their employees. When managers change, more could be done to smooth the transition so it does not create such an impact on the teams being managed."

"Good challenge; nowhere to grow. Great people and wonderful projects."

"Health benefits and the people; the projects are really cool, with geospatial presentations."

"Be practical and down to earth. It takes a special person to be in public service: not a lot of ego."
What don't you like about working at State of Connecticut?
"No growth potential; no raises in 5 years. Benefits gradually declining."

"Hang in there; the economy has to turn around soon."

"It is a small manufacturer that is growing very successfully. As it transitions from a small to a medium sized company there is a good amount of potential for learning something new."

"As a small company, very well established company there is resistance to change and to many of the things that are needed to grow."

"Opportunity to participate with senior management on strategic plans for the enterprise; small staff makes for close working relationships."

"Marketing had too much power; IT techs had very little interest in process and produced problematic code; corporate parent intervened inappropriately; HR refuses to give references."

"IT management was too micromanagement-oriented and needs to delegate, empower and trust."
