"I would take the 1 star reviews with a grain of salt. It's easy to throw shade when you're anonymous. While the office environment was a bit lacking, the workload was doable and the people were friendly. Definitely good as a first or second job for college grads, but beyond that I would look elsewhere."
"Was an intern and was promised stuff. Didn't get stuff."
What do you like about working at Building Safety Solutions?
"I saw BSS as my first look at the business world. I was excited and everyone was friendly. I was promised I'd get a lot of training."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Inflate the CEO's ego and stroke it and smile and nod a lot."
What don't you like about working at Building Safety Solutions?
"I was supposed to be brought on as an intern and had no benefits, but was told that after a certain amount of time, I'd get them. I never did and ended up having to deal with lots of arbitrary rules and meaningless tasks. I was cramped into a small office, didn't get any training, and mainly compiled lists of leads from things like Linkedin and etc."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Better training and keeping up with promises. Also, the environment is friendly, but a couple people are toxic."
"They think they're professional. They aren't."
What do you like about working at Building Safety Solutions?
"The places around BSS are nice to eat at. The people who are not upper-management are, for the most part, very nice and great. There are a couple who are very rude, but they're mostly in marketing."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Once you walk through the door, take a token and leave. Get back to your car. Drive home and take a very long drink and think about what you almost did. Then, once you realized how stupid you were in even considering this job, try and find a job with a place that isn't falling apart at the seams."
What don't you like about working at Building Safety Solutions?
"Upper-management sucks. If you enjoy dealing with incompetent man-children who like to overcompensate for their personal shortcomings by flaunting their unwarranted self-importance , then you'll love working for them. Also, the company promises growth and better wages, but let's be honest, they want you to work for the faint hope you'll get somewhere. Spoiler: It doesn't happen. A lot of workers are underpaid and given work outside of their job descriptions. Also, bouncing paychecks, sexual harassment and other types of harassment, unprofessional behavior everywhere. Health insurance is bare-minimum."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Actually conduct yourself like professionals and stop making everything a contest. A true company works together and shouldn't be a place where you go to bully your subordinates just so you can stroke your ego. Everyone else is nice, wtf is wrong with you people"
