Broadwing Corporation was a media solutions company that provided data and voice technology for customers around the world. More than 130,000 customers were served by Broadwing, including eight Fortune 100 companies. Based in Austin, Texas, Broadwing was founded in 1997 by David R. Huber when he purchased the company from Cincinnati Bell and Focal. Broadwing, along with all of its locations and assets, was purchased by Level 3 Communications, one of its primary competitors, in October 2006.

As a part of Level 3 Communications, Broadwing continues to serve customers in the U.S., Latin America, Asia and Europe. During its prime, Broadwing served businesses, carriers, homes and various government entities with local, long distance and cellular phone calling plans. Other services included teleconferencing options, data and video services and even voice calling.
