What do you like about working at Bowne & Co.?
"The western division was rapidly expanding and there was a lot of activity. I was given the freedom to train site managers and develop a standard financial reporting package. The person I directly reported to had an MBS from Harvard and was a joy to work for. I was alwways treated with respect and fairly. Bowne paid for 1/2 of my tuition to attend law school at night and allowed me the time to complete my studies and classes. The Company gave me two weeks off to study and take my final exams at the end of each semester."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be innovative and a team player. Be prepared to work with site managers that have not attended college. Treat all co-workers with respect and always be prepared to help. Take the extra time to review in detail how transactions flow and the reason for required reporting forms to ensure site managers understand why procedures have been put in place."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I have not worked there for over 10 years and therefore any suggestions would be off the point and out dated."

"Good Experience and liked the people, paid for certification testing and earning certifications was suggested."

"No room for advancement, I reached the top position available as a Sr. Systems Support Specialist and was stuck, no other position to advance to other than management, and I prefer to remain a worker, rather than a manager."

"Bowne loves an employee that has a excellent work ethic and loyal to the company."
What don't you like about working at Bowne & Co.?
"The working eviroment at the time was not condusive for health. I worked in the paper plant"

"Seperate your developers , designers from the plant enviroment it is a health hazared. Develope your staff by teaching trainging them on programs that will benefit the company in the long run."

"I was given responsibilities, independence, to run my department. My input was valued, my ideas were explored, incorporated, and adapted."
What don't you like about working at Bowne & Co.?
"Some people did not view their concept of 'team' work. They had a hard time reviewing other team members vitalness to the group.The one bad apple theory did, and eventually dragged down Bowne production."

"Review waste management, both in time and materials. Stress team work goals and each individuals integrated efforts as to how it meets the big picture."

"If you didn't work at corporate New York your voice was not heard and you had no chance of advancement."
