"The Books-a-Million location where I work is, overall, a very positive workplace: managers are understanding and supportive, do their best to be attentive to employee's needs, and try their best to compensate for lack of support from higher up. That said, there is a vast gulf between high-level managers and corporate and the managers and employees who work in their stores. Individual stores have to muddle through unwieldy corporate directives and inadequate pay for their work."
